C-Max 1.6 TDCI engine problem update: took the car for a good long run, about 100 miles in total over the last two days on the M74 and M80 at 70 mph and it seems like the problem is fixed! Running much more like normal now, and no rattling sound. I've a focus estate 1.8 TDCI (03 plate) just clocked up 50000 miles last week. It went in yesterday (15/10/07) to a ford service centre, to sort out why the rev counter, digi display etc, have an intermittant fault. It's been diagnosed as a problem with the instrument cluster, at a cost of approx £350.

Hi there, I didn't get a code on my Ford Focus / MK2 (Europe) 2010, just the "Engine failure" on the cluster. Engine start to fail when I accelerate. Engine fails with false detonations and lack of power; a couple of times seems that the transmission goes to neutral by itself.
